like this imperfect hand-writing)
Review
This is an amazingly written book. The detail she gives in
her writing is so descriptive that I can already imagine the woods that Theo
walks through every day. (Well, not really because where I’m from we have
jungles not forests. So not having been in an actual wood yet, I have only the
woods from The Hunger Games to base my pictures on.) The plot was good, in the
beginning I thought it was going to be one of those usual plots that we see
from books today but , it turned out SLIGHTLY different.
An example of a usual storybook plot is as below.
USUAL PLOT
(inevitable, horrible future+ way out+ male/female
character lead falls in love with+ have to fight for their lives and help save
whatever community is there+ they live= STORYBOOK’S PLOT)
But she totally proved me wrong when she did the plot
twist (which is………………. As if I’m telling you guys)
BTW this book is a cliffhanger but, do not despair
her second book for this series, BROKEN
is
already out
THERE IS A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE BOOK
UNDERNEATH THIS REVIEW, IF YOU GUYS WANT TO HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS
BOOK.
SUMMARY
Theodosia (one of the weirdest names I’ve ever read of. BTW
they call her Theo, so I thought she was a guy in the beginning) is basically
the ugly duckling of her family, the black sheep. After something major and inevitable is
almost upon her she has a break down and runs to the forest, the only place she
finds comfort in besides being with her youngest sister, to umm ….get away from
all the pressure of her extremely posh life ( see I’m giving you hints). She
runs through a part of the forest she hasn’t been to before, she touches a
tree, well, hugs the tree and is transported to a new, beautifully
breath-taking world. She drinks water from a stream, a turn of events happen
and this guy (his name’s Ahuilitzli, I mean why does it have to be such a weird
name. I mean Theodosia’s sister’s name is Cecilia) and his pack of wolves save
her. (You have to give me like some props for going this far into the summary
and only giving you slight spoilers.) Well anyhow, after failing at making a
“connection” with each other she bunks at his place for the night. The place is
much different from her world. With no rules, nobody judging you, you have
complete freedom and the choice to be whoever you want to be, it’s all she’s
ever wanted in life but duty calls, and she goes home. She goes back and forth
between the worlds a couple more times and she realizes she loves (?) and she
doesn’t want to go back to her normal life. HUGE PLOT TWIST. THE END.
It's a pretty good book but I'm more of a Hunger Games kind of girl but if your a usual teenage girl this book could be your new favorite read.
