Review
It’s a
pretty old book, first published in 1995. But, although it’s old, it is still
an awesome book. It’s a page turner, fast paced and each page is filled with
horror, witchcraft or something like that, it’s a great book for when you want
a quick read. Suitable for any gender but it might not be suitable for adults
and grandparents because they might ban you from reading about witchcraft,
satanic stuff and seventh son of the seventh son and daughter of the seventh
daughter (didn’t know there was something about daughter’s cause movies usually
make them about the sons) (thank you Anthony Horowitz for not being sexist) But
anyway, its kinda demonic but not much. All in all it’s an awesome book, and
you should totally check out this authors other series like Alex Rider or Power
of Five serious and both of the series are in my top 5.
Summary
David is a
troublemaker, but I don’t blame him with a violent parent and the other almost
useless I don’t think it’s his fault he turned out that way. David normally
gets into trouble with his parent (which?) but when he gets expelled, it’s the
last straw and they send him away to Groosham Grange.
Meeting new
friends on the way he realizes that with each day he spends at the school, he
discovers weird and weirder (I couldn’t think of a better word) things that happen
at the school. After losing a man and a weird dream (is it a dream?) they send
out bottles with messages inside. Incidents happen and he escapes but is caught
and…. In the end he accepts who he is and his happy with what he becomes. ( I
know kind of cliché ending but, what can I do.)
There’s a
sequel to the book RETURN TO GROOSHAM GRANGE. I’ve already read it but that was
years ago, so I’ll have to read again before giving it a review.
