Bookworm Appeal: Did you like The Young Elites?
NON SPOILER REVIEW
It takes place inn a fantasy setting where blood fever has run through the lands leaving anyone that survives it with strange markings and occasionally special abilities. Throughout the story we follow Adelina as she searches for REVENGE! MY REVIEW FOR THE YOUNG ELITES
SPOILER REVIEW
1.That end scene tho
I feel so BAD for Adelina. I mean you can see that she's trying to stop but the voices in her head make it improbable. I DID NOT expect her to lash out at Violetta like that, I mean maybe a slap to the face but it never came to mind that she would actually kill Violetta.
I felt especially bad for Adelina when she's on the throne with the crown on her head waiting for that sweet feeling of relief course through her and it doesn't happen.
2. This book is sooooooooo much darker
It was so much darker than the young elites was. It's even darker than Knife Edge (which is from the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman that I have a review to in case you want to check it out) I mean before this Adelina was like "Oooh POWER!!! YAYYYY!!!!!" but now iit's more like "POWER I NEED MORE" It was just so hard at times to read from her perspective.
3. The ELITES
Their all GONNA DIE! AND I DIDN'T SEE IT COMING!!!! UGHHHHHHH!!!! #disappointed
When Rafaelle was talking about the Windwalker's bones hollowing out I thought it was because somehow Adelina's powers had manifested into something more, because the doctor was like it was as though the wrist twisted from the inside and that's sorta what Adelina does...rite? So, I kinda have a theory about how this conflict will end but that'll be somewhere down in another point. SOOOOO, READ ON!!!!
4. THE SHIPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
SO the easy to see ones are probably Maeve and Lucent and Sergio and Violetta. The one that I really want to talk about is between Adelina - Enzo - Magiano. SO I know a lot of you probably like the idea of Magiano and Adelina together because he brings out the best in her and he's a really good person and he has a really awesome power. They are cute but for some reason I can't seem to let go of the idea of Adelina and Enzo. I know Enzo isn't really there just a shadow of himself and we have to kill him off but I kind of like to think of the Underworld side of him like this thin layer of cloth on him that they can somehow rip off. I'm pretty sure Marie Lu will write my first theory but I'm hoping for the latter.
5. GEMMA IS DEAD
I wasn't expecting that. I thought we would be done killing off the reast of the Daggers after Enzo and Dante but apparently we aren't and I know Enzo and the rest of the Daggers blame Adelina for Gemma's death but I kinda think that Gemma's death was Gemma's fault. I mean if Gemma hadn't tried to kill Adelina, Adelina would have never tried to kill Gemma,Plus it's not like Sergio could aim his lightning at Gemma he can make storms not control them. So really her death was her fault.
6. THEORY
After Violetta left Adelina she actually went to find the Daggers to go save Adelina. In return of them helping her save Adelina she'll help take away their powers so that they don't die. Then they'll kill Enzo and Adelina and Magiano will end up together and all of the other ships I mentioned will end up together as well. Maybe not Maeve and Lucent for some reason I imagine either one of them dying at the end.
7. Teren
The irony of the whole thing is the fact that he pretty much set his own downfall in motion I mean if he didn't try and burn Adelina in the first place I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have been caught. I was reading the part where Adelina goes all "I'll kill your soul" on him and I kind of wanted her to mention the irony of the whole situation.
8. Adelina
Throughout the whole book Adelina was giving me this whole Levana kind of vibe. (Levana is from THE LUNAR CHRONICLES BY MARISSA MEYER) I mean her view of love and her reactions are all very Levana-like if you read Fairest you get it.

The Young Elites
Title: The Young Elites
Author: Marie Lu
Rating: 89%

Bookworm Appeal: Human?
NON_SPOILER SUMMARY/REVIEW
I pretty much flew through this book. Literally... I got the book this morning at 7:00 in the morning at school and finished it at 11:40 at night. This book to me is kind of like a mixture of Dystopian (10%) and Fantasy (90%). It happens in this Fantasy world called Kenneth? (Kenettra) and we read it from multiple point of views, which is really nice. If you're a noob at Fantasy, I suggest not reading this until you're at least a novice. You should try out reading GRACELING first cause that's a really nice book. I probably give it an A- just because of a few things I'll explain in my SPOILER SECTION.
It's about this girl who discovers she has powers after almost being killed by everyone.
SPOILER REVIEW
1.This book was soooo dark
But soooooooooooooo intriguing. Just the whole process of her discovering how to control her powers was so dark. I mean, imagine having to grip onto the things you fear most to use your powers every single day and feeding off other people's fears and liking it is really reaally really messed up.
2.Enzo and Adelina
I kinda knew they were gonna end up together as soon as he saved her. I was supposed to be listening to a leadership speech but instead I was reading this book under the table. And the whole time he was saving her I was just smiling like a madman and telling all my friends and I quote "I know they're gonna end up together and I don't even know his name yet." and when I found he was the prince I pretty much went crazy and started gripping all my friends arms and stared at them wide eyed saying "He's the PRINCE" really slowly. They were really cute together in my opinion. I really liked them together but I do wish that we knew more about this Daphne person than what Enzo told Adelina. The part before the Duel was really nice too.
3.The OTHER Young Elites
Gemma seems really nice and Michel too. Adelina seems to be closer to these 2 elites than the other 2. She and Lucent seem to be more like allies or acquaintances rather than friends. And spider just seems like a jerk.
4.Rafaella
Where do I begin. HE was kind of like her anchor, her shoulder to lean on. Throughout the book I just felt really bad for him. Especially when you're told his backstory. And tht end scene with him and Adelina was just spirit crushing
5.Enzo
Did I expect him to die? NOPE! I did not. I kinda suspected someone would die as soon as someone said there was someone with the power to bring people back from the dead but did I expect it to be Enzo! NOOOOOOO. I like Enzo but I feel as though we don't realy know him. I mean we know Adelina , her secrets, her fears but Enzo I barely know anything only that he was a prince, he was friends with Teren before the fever and that he was the first young elite and the girl he loved died.
I need to KNOW MORE!!!!
6.The blood fever
I want to know how it came about in the first place. Like what's its origin how did it start? Who got it first? There wasn't much on the backstory of the fever just that it was always there.
7. Teren
SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Teren was good before that (CURSE WORDS) convinced him that he was no better than a dog. I could probably see a nice different future for Teren if itwere'nt for that evil queen . The solution is prettyy simple though, just kill off Teren I mean sure I pity him but he's better off dead
8.TELLING THEM
OMG!!! Why didn't she tell them that her sister was locked up. It would have made things so much easier. Halfway through the book I slammed the book on the table and was just like Imma kill Marie Lu for making Adelina so damn stupid. LIKE SERIOUSLY nothing good ever comes from with holding information.
9.The ROSE SOCIETY
Adelina ain't backing down. She's a survivor. She gonna make it. Keep on survivin'.
10.Violetta
Is amazing!

Carry On
Title: Carry On
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Rating: 100/5
Reading Time: 5 hours
Bookworm Appeal: It appeals to anyone who is anyone
Front seat's for people who haven't been kidnapped by numpties!
Backstory ( You may skip this)
I've been putting off reading this book for a loooooooooooooong time because of a couple of reasons:
1. I wanted to get in hardcover but my bookstore only had it in paperback
2. My cousin (Mimi) has been asking me to wait for her, so we can read it together. (She's also the reason why I haven't read Queen of Shadows yet)
3. I had just come back from one of the biggest book sales that happens 2-3 times a year and started reading those first.
But while I was on youtube this one booktuber did a review on Fangirl (another Rainbow Rowell book) SO I watched it because it was his first review, he does book related things but he's never done a review before. And he talked about how cute Levi and Cath were and about the part where Cath read Levi the Outsiders for him. Then I read Cath's fanfics for Simon and Baz and I just had to pick up Carry On. I just had to.
Summary/Non-Spoiler Review
*I didn't know much about this book when I went into this book and I loved being surprised
This story centers around Simon Snow and he's a magician/wizard and what they call the Mage's heir and the most powerful wizard to ever live and he's also the Chosen One or as Baz calls him the worst chosen one to ever be chosen. (He has a lot of nicknames) He can't control his powers and whenever he tries to help he pretty much just blows everything up into a million tiny pieces.
There's a war going on. Actually several wars going on. There's politics and romance and sass/Baz and I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH I LITERALLY CAN'T EVEN!
I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH AND I AM SO HAPPY I DIDN'T WAIT FOR MIMI!
This book is literally everything I could ever want...and the ships oh the ships...they are totally endgame...I get goosebumps whenever I think about them.
By the way you DO NOT have to read FANGIRL TO READ THIS BOOK !
REVIEW
1. Baz
Throughout the whole first part of the book when Baz is missing, the only thing I can think about is when he's going to show up. Like at the beginning of every page that's the first thing to come to mind. He is my favorite character out of the entire book. I mean he's just so funny and sweet it's hard not to fall in love with Baz. It's literally impossible and even Rainbow herself said in an interview that he was her favorite character.
2. Penelope and Simon
Their relationship is literally #friendshipgoals at their finest. I think that's enough to describe their relationship.
3.The World of Mages Politics
It would be confusing if anyone else but Rainbow Rowell describes it to you. And it's not really something you can describe in one or two paragraphs. It's more like a you need to read at least half the book before you understand it kind of thing . I liked the politics because in a way it kinda grounds the book, makes the world seem more realistic.
4. Normals
In this world we don't any special names like mundane or mortal or muggle we're just normals. I loved the way Rainbow merged the two worlds. There's technology and the way the characters speak is exactly the way normal teenagers do.
5. The Magic
The way they do spells in this book, I have to say is pretty confusing but mind you it's probablly only a tad confusing for me because I flew through the book so fast, I'll probably give this book a reread (in fact I've already started) but basically almost anything can become a spell like songs and commonly used words. It was wonderfully interesting and I'll probably try to figure it out properly as I reread.
6. Simon's tail and wings
Throughout the epilogue, I was sort of hoping that Simon'd tail and wings would disappear at the end because it must be pretty horrible for him whenever he has to go out and do stuff, especially during the dance with Baz where Baz has to hold Simon's tail in one hand while dancing.
7. Simon's parents
I wish Simon had figured out that the Mage was his dad and that Lucy came back to see him and he was her beautiful rosebud boy.
8. Simon's magic
Professor Bunce said that apparently that the dead spots would eventually get back their magic so maybe he might be able to as well. I mean Simon's parents are the Mage who is super magickal and Lucy who is described as pretty magickal too. He should at least hve some controllable magic. (that way he could get rid of the wings and tail :) )
9. Simon and Baz's relationship
I knew it was a romance book because of Cath and Fangirl but I didn't know which direction it would go in, especially in the beginning, because Simon was dating Agatha and he and Penelope were really close and Baz was missing. When Baz arrived I was still nervous because we didn't know how Simon would react to Baz because we knew from the first few POV's from Baz that he was in love with Simon. It was so cute whenever Simon still didn't know about BAz's feelings towards him and put his hand on Baz's or chose to help Baz.
10. Agatha
I just didn't like her. She seemed like a brat.
11. SEQUEL
Rainbow said that if she was planning to write a sequel for any of her books it would either be for Carry On or Eleanor and Park. SO I'M EXCITED

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children
Title: Miss Peregine's Home For Peculiar Children
Author: Ransom Riggs
Rating:5/5
Reading Time: 1 day
Bookworm Appeal: If you're just as random as me you'll find this book wonderfully peculiar.
Walking is for the poor.
SUMMARY AND NON SPOILER REVIEW
I loved this book, it is now officially a part of my ultimate favorites book list. And the ending, I lost the ability to even. EVERYONE WHO READS THIS SENTENCE HAS TO READ THIS BOOK or they shall suffer the consequences of not reading such an awesome book. The writing was amazing and the characters were lovely although slightly frustrating, especially Emma.
The book is basically about peculiar children and a bunch of peculiar things. Sorry for being so vague but I really don't wanna spoil it for you but, if you enjoy kinda paranormal books and even if you don't this book is amazing to any reader that, and the photos are top-notch. I just wish I had the real book, it's just not the same if you can't actually see the pics kinda like Hugo Cabret which I have a review for if you guys wanna check that out.
REVIEW
1. The Prologue
I loved the way Ransom wrote the prologue. Sometimes, if the prologue or the first chapter of a book isn't particularly interesting or bores me, I drop the book. I know, I know shun me. But, Ransom writing style gripped me and I always loved the use of metaphors in writing.
2. In the beginning I thought I was reading from a girl's POV
Not really, important but I thought I'd bring it up. I know you might wonder, why didn't you read the description behind the book? Well, I started reading this book from a noob's perspective, basically the only things I knew about the book was it's paranormal-ish and the third book just came out and that it's really, really good. They mention the name Yakob but, who knows it still might have been a girl's name.
3. I kinda hated Jacob
So this is after, his Gramp's death :(
Anywho, the reason is cause he threw away his grandpa's cigar box of pictures. I mean sure, your upset and annoyed but does that really give you the right to throw away your Grandpa's most prized possession. I mean it really annoyed me. Even if let's say they were fakes (I knew they weren't but he doesn't) they would still be the people his grandfather grew up with and I think he should've kept the pictures, no matter how pissed of he was instead (I'm only 15% in so if digs it back up somewhere later I'm calling him a dumb-dumb) of throwing them in the trash bag.
4. I'm annoyed with Jacob again
Not even three chapters later, I'm already annoyed with Jacob again. I mean so there's the whole we found a letter from another woman and I don't want you to get hurt and all that jazz. I'm giving props to Jacob for not believing his father but annoyed with him because he hasn't put it together. The letter from Miss Peregrine had the same mushy stuff like that and he didn't realize it. I mean how daft can you be, I realized it the minute I read it. (If I'm wrong then, nobody's perfect)
5. Slightly less annoyed and super hyped that my theories are correct.
He figured it out. He brought it up. Wheww! Yes Jacob they are the same person. Do you guys know that feeling where you're halfway through a page or sentence and everything starts to click and you have small theories that you yell out loud hoping someone validates it...then you realize your the only person in the house reading the book and go back to the book. When the bird was perched on his dresser everything made sense, his gramps said that he was being watched over by a bird with a pipe, peregrine is a bird's name and it would only make sense if the caretaker had a peculiar power. Jacob's dad pretty much confirmed it when he said that the bird was a peregrine falcon I mean after he said that it was pretty much the most logical conclusion given the facts.
6. I feel so sorry for Emma
Her whole love story was tragic. Plus the fact that she can't go back to the future without shriveling up and dying thing (I figured it up at the apple part) But, as you guys know, for an avid reader the first thing you do when your protagonist meets another person about the same age from another gender and they have short funny banters is see if their shippable, so I'm just wondering how the whole Emma Jacob thing works. Does he stay in the loop or does he leave or is there a way to bring Emma to the future, and I'm wondering what this is all leading up to since there are three books.
7. Why Jacob? Why!?
When they hatched out their plan I started yelling at the computer screen. It was mostly a bunch of "No! No!" or "You guys are so stupid are you trying to get yourself eaten! God dammit why are you guys being a big bunch of dumbasses!" So they arrive at the shop and they get the dead guy to talk. I swear, when that bloody person came in and revealed he was actually Dr Golan I was yelling bloody murder. I kinda suspected Dr Golan of something during the whole airport part but him being a wight? Did not see that coming. (But I think I should've)
8. The Ending.
The FEELS. I can't...I can't even. I've lost the ability to even and I teared up a bit. OOOOHH I can't wait to start the second book.
"But don't burn out. Even if you scream and shout. It'll come back to you and I'll be here for you."

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Trailers Review ( For Prim and Welcome to the 76th Hunger Games )
FOR PRIM IS NOT A NON SPOILER REVIEW
Welcome to the 76th Hunger Games is a NON SPOILER REVIEW
If you have not read the ending for Mockingjay Part 2 and have not been spoiled don't let me be the one to spoil you. Technically you can read the first review that one has no spoilers in it but, the second one will.
You have been warned
1st trailer
Welcome to the 76th annual Hunger Games
Like in my first ever trailer review (I'm so happy it was The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 Trailer) Link to my Review I will be doing this in categories.
The Beginning
So, they start it off at Finnick and Annie's wedding. I am so happy they got married, Katniss is at the doorway-arch thing-y and then they go to the scene where Katniss is dancing with Prim. (Prim and Katniss moments are so sweet)
Dramatic Pauses
There were tons of dramatic pauses between the sentences. It may seem kinda annoying but it has it's effect and Katniss's voice combined just like gave me goosebumps all over (not really but it felt like it did)
That sentence tho
There's this one sentence where she says:
"He turns the best of us against each other"
Then right after that there's a scene where Gale (ughhh) turns his gun to another soldier and the soldier is pointing her gun at him.
People who have not read Mockingjay be like:
Yeah that other soldier must be the traitor.
People who have read Mockingjay be like:
Oooooo! That was really smart.
Effie has a wig and make up
It;s not really important but in the book we don't get to see Effie until the very end and she's actually auburn or brown hair I think. She doesn't wear any make up.
The Special Effects
As per usual the special effects were top notch and we also get a small glimpse of a bald Johanna and the peacekeeper lizard mutts and they were so scary I'll probably scream in the cinema.
The bit at the end where she's about to shoot her bow and the sound of the arrow against the bow was a nice touch.
SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER_SPOILER
2nd trailer
For Prim
My god the feels. Oh the feels. I can't even. It was just so sweet. It was basically about Katniss and Prim's relationship as sisters and it was just.... OMG. I'm fangirling like a maniac. It gave me literal goosebumps and I cried a bit, I'm not exaggerating at all.
It was so sweet and the music playing in the background was phenomenal.
And of course we all know Prim dies in the end (cries before finishing post) and when they go Her Sacrifice Is The Ultimate Tribute, I just started bawling.
Of course the unknowing people will think Oh Katniss sacrifices for Prim because Katniss was featured equally, and the rest of us are like we know, we know!

Crown of Midnight
Title: Crown of Midnight
Series: Throne of Glass (#2)
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Rating: 4/5
Reading Time: 1 day
Bookworm Appeal: More Calaena, Utter and complete confusion, frustration, and a whole lot of kicking ass awesomeness
Oh No! Not her!
Non Spoiler REVIEW/SUMMARY
OK... How do I not give you spoilers. So...Crown of Midnight is the second book in the six book series, Throne of Glass. If you want to know more you can check out my Throne of Glass Review. But it's basically about this bad-ass assassin, Calaena who has just (this is a spoiler for those who have not read Throne of Glass, well...kind of we all knew it would happen) become the King's Champion and this is what happens after. I loved it it was basically just pure awesomeness, not as awesome as The Hunger Games, but then again nothing is as awesome as The Hunger Games. But, then again most of you guys know I'm biased when it comes to anything vs. The Hunger Games. Anyway, it is an amazing book that you guys MUST read if you haven't and if you have you may continue to the Spoiler Section of this review and to the Non-spoilery peeps turn back and read the first book or the second book while you can...then come back here.

SPOILER REVIEW
1. Nehemia
I can't believe she died. I was not expecting that! Contrary to popular belief I did not cry. I know, SHOCKER cause I always cry but...meh. I guess it was because right after Nehemia died there was a fight scene and I was kinda praying for Chaol's death and all that other stuff. I was also speed reading at the time so if I somehow find the time to reread it, I'll probably cry. But, I have to give props to Nehemia for letting herself be killed to become a martyr to her people and to give Calaena that small push that she very much needed. I give you the three finger salute Nehemia even if you are just fictional.
I'd do Rue's whistle if I could but sadly I can't whistle and if I tried it would just be me spitting and that seems disrespectful.
2. The Ships
When I said complete and utter confusion in the Bookworm Appeal I meant it. You see in the first book before making up my mind I was completely and utterly confused and distressed because both Dorian and Chaol were sweet but like I said Dorian won me over with his charm, humor and love for books. That and he's the Prince and I always pick the prince. I'm biased I know but after reading The Selection...OMG I just realized The Selection by Kiera Cass also has a love triangle with Aspen a guard and Maxon the prince....OMG MIND BLOWN!!!!
I mean Chaol's okay and all but I was just like why are you with Chaol like seriously why? Dorian is so much better. I mean Dorian's so funny and sweet so I didn't really get Calaena's love life in this book. She likes them equally but she's throwing herself in this Chaol situation, I'm not even gonna call it relationship, because she doesn't want Dorian to be an option since he's a Hallivard and all that.
I felt SO BAD for Dorian in this book, whenever we got his POV I was just like Aww-ing the entire time.
And also I think what happened in Chapter 23 was a little rushed I mean it was. I think it was because of the fact that she lost Sam and she didn't manage to have it with him so, she rushes into it because she's afraid she'll lose Chaol before she could share that moment with him, not that I would mind if for some reason she was unable to share that moment with Chaol and have Dorian take Chaol's place FOREVER.
3. Dorian has MAGIC
So....Dorain has magic SQUEEEE!!!!!!! AND Calaena is Fae YAYYYYYY!!!! I am so excited now that Dorian has magic! So Dorian has raw magic that means that instead of just being one thing it can be whatever he needs may it be fire, may it be ice it shall come to fit his likes ( I just made that up ) and CALAENA is the Heir of Terrasen I kind of figured it out thanks to the 3rd books title 'Heir of Fire' so she must be The Heir and her Fae magic must be fire. So I figured this out after checking out the titles of the other books when I was reading Throne of Glass. When he firsts discovers his magic he was standing up to his father and he knocks this wall and the glass pane near the wall shatters and I was like 'Elsa moment' and throughout the book I see him the developing into this awesome King and Chaol is just...there.
4. Her Faeness
I know she's headed to Wendlyn, to the last Fae stronghold and she's gonna go and bring back the Fam and come back with a vengeance. She bout' to go all SUPER SAIYAN on that King's face. She bout to go get back the throne.
5. I mentioned this in The Ships but...
I'm sorry to all the Team Chaol fans ut there but I have to admit that I was more than happy watching her kick Chaol's ass. I was just sitting there, hunched over my book, chanting "Die Chaol die! Die Chaol Die!" and when he didn't I was just like SwipeR in Dora the Explorer. You know the whole Oh man! thing. I think I like Throne of Glass better even though I still mess up Throne of Glass with Game of Thrones.Probably because we get more Dorian time.
6. The portal scene
I was so scared that one of them would get stuck in the portal because that is kind of one of the biggest and most used cliches of all time. I wouldn't have cared if Chaol got stuck in the portal cause then Dorian and Calaena would go off and find him and then they would bond over that period of time and she'll start getting attracted to Dorian and vice versa and by the time they reached Chaol Calorian would be back on track. Did I mention ( Descendants reference ) how dumb Calaena was though. I mean you don't go dabble with the dead and the gates everyone knows that that's not what you do, that there is a line that no one crosses I mean it's in every book that concerns talking to the dead and the fact that she's an avid reader makes me even more disappointed.
7. The Wyrdkeyes
So there are 3 in total and we know the king already has at least 1 key. And apparently they are able to open up portals and bring in creatures. If all three keys are assembled then he can open the portals at whatever time and for how long he wants because with only one key he can open it just long enough to bring in a creature before it closes. We also learn a bit more about the rings but I'm still not entirely sure what sort of magic it is, I know it gives the wearer massive headaches and the king can bend them to his will or at least something along the lines of that. But I'd still like to know more about it.
8. The Dreams
So Gavin came into Dorian's dream to tell him that Calaena was in trouble and Elena comes into Calaena's dreams whenever she needs guidance. He didn't go to Chaol. I think you know where I'm getting at. Which reminds me when they were at the portal and Calaena wanted to get away from Dorian to help Chaol she knocks out Dorian and I'm just like WTF did you just do that! Are you dumb you want to get away okay break away you don't have to knock him out your a FAE you can out run him, how stupid can you be. Really...I love Calaena but she is really frustrating in this book.
There is probably more but this seems long enough so until the next review 'Heir of Fire'
Love,
Leeya
